Melissa has been at SFPCC since 1981. She received her B.A. in elementary education from Elmira College in New York and an M.S. in education from Lesley College (now Lesley University). She was a pre-Kindergarten teacher at a Boston private school before joining SFPCC as a Preschool 2 teacher. She taught in Preschool 2 for two years before becoming Assistant Director of the Center. Melissa also received a certificate in business management from the evening program at Radcliffe College while working at SFPCC.

Debra has been at SFPCC since 1996. She received her B.A. in early childhood education from Boston University, and was a teacher at a pre-school in Minneapolis before coming to SFPCC. Debra began as a member of the floating teaching staff and then joined the Infant/Toddler/Toddler 1 team, helping to develop the joint classroom program and eventually becoming a lead teacher and team coordinator. She also took on various office responsibilities and in 2007 became the Administrative Assistant for the Center. She helped design and develop the Toddler 2 classroom and curriculum when the Center expanded in 2008 and continued to share her time between the classroom and the administration until she moved into a full time Infant/Toddler and Educational Coordinator position in 2009. In 2010, she became the Assistant Director.

Jennifer Sawicki SFPCC

Educational Coordinator
After receiving her B.A. in Psychology from Boston University in 2000, Jen began at SFPCC in 2001. She has taught in both the Toddler 3 and Infant/Toddler/Toddler 1 classrooms. In 2010, she earned her M.S. in Early Childhood Education with a Specialization in Birth- 3 and Early Intervention from Wheelock College. Jen utilizes her background in early intervention to consult with and support the teachers in creating learning environments and developing curriculum that meet the individual needs of children with and without developmental delays. She has a focused interest in Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and attends conferences and trainings to further her knowledge in these areas. Jen also recently became a certified DIR/Floortime therapist.
